I was told that it is very good for plants. So that is why I liked to try. It will arrive Tuesday they say. Here in Holland it is not for sale.

Seaweed contains natural cytokinens. This is a hormone that promotes cell division in plants. Coconut milk also contains cytokinens, and I had wanted to do an experiment using our own coconuts. Nah...I would rather eat my coconuts than feed it to my plants. Hilarious!

Such a waste of coconuts to feed them to your plants. Even though the plants are important. Glare

Moving right along here...

I had done a couple of hundred up-pottings into 8" panterra bowls last May.

Thanks, Willeke! Looking at the top of the soil doesn't really tell one what is going on underneath. It's like looking at the tip of an iceburg...underneath the water that thing is huge!

Beautiful, KD. That one you repotted is the shape I love with the big wide base and tapering up similar to a pyramid.
I am so glad up posted photo's of this tree splitting it's pot. You hear and may have seen photo's of this possibility, but it is nice to see from someone you know. Makes it all more real.
You do a marvelous job with your plants and I truly believe that you could be growing these as well as any Thai grower. Your trials show this.

Thank you, Rick! Up-potting these trees is tedious work, but it's fun to see the different shapes beneath the soil line.

Hilarious! Hilarious! I will never know how tall it would have gotten if the terminal apex had not rotted.

The tree had quickly cauterized itself preventing the rot to travel further down. Then when it dropped the dried up tip...6 branches emerged from the top! I believe the trunk will thicken in short order to support the canopy. I have up-potted it into a deep 10" container and will post pictures in a couple of months.
