This is an amazing coincidence, but I have that same vine growing wild down in our bottomland near the creek. I have been planning to take my camera down there and take a picture so I could try to get this ID'ed.

It doesn't match either of the two known to grow in Texas. This is a vine and it climbs with tendrils.

It appears to me to be a Alabama Supplejack,aka Ratton vine,Berchania scanden.or another member of the Buckhorn family Rhamnaceae

I always look forward to your guesses josephine. Even when they are not exactly right, they're almost always on the right track and lead me to the correct id. This one is not even listed in Wildflowers Centers database.

You are right, it is not listed there, I thought maybe because it might be a Texas invasive, but I didn't see it on the invasives list, so I guess the wildflower center didn't get to it yet.
