LOL, Jay !

I have to admit that sometimes the birds here get a bit carried away, with the ravens squawking out in the woods and huge flocks of bluejays landing in the tree in the front yard and carrying on about the bird feeders... but I would really hope that most -- if not all -- of us that enjoy gardening and being outdoors would find the birds more enjoyable than "too noisy" to live with! Rolling my eyes.

I can not imagine an outside without the cheeps and peeps and squawk-talk of the birds, but even more so, no trees? Rolling my eyes.

I agree, Jean -- that would be a very sad world for me!

I was so delighted when we visited our daughter in Australia and the first morning there, we were chuckled awake by the Kookaburras outside our window followed by the Magpies and their throat singing. Thumbs up

Not quite on the same level as going to Australia, but we have had a pair of ravens hanging around here all summer (we've named them Heckle and Jeckle, LOL) and I'm sure they have some babies that will be showing up soon. So funny to watch the young ravens begging the adults to food, all the time standing on top of seed underneath the bird feeder... I really love those guys!

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Could have blown in on a hurricane, I suppose...

My dream is to go to Australia -- truly a world apart from us, in terms of the flora and fauna!

We have been very fortunate. As a kid of 14, my best friend and her family moved to Au. We promised that we would be BF's forever and write and call... (50 years ago) needless to say that did not happen. But, I was a victim of Aussie fever.

Fast forward to 2000/2001 and my daughter meets a fellow from Sydney at a convention...then she did some promo work in Sydney...they have been in Brisbane since 2004. We saved our nickles and dimes and in 2007 we were able to spend a month and got to see a tiny bit of a beautiful country including Uluru-Kata Tjuta (Ayer's Rock). We have been back a couple more times, and are fortunate enough to be able to go again this year for a couple weeks. The country is beautiful, but so are our two fine young grandsons... Lovey dubby
