Hello, I am looking for the cultivar Emily's Fiery Horse for a memorial gift for a friend. Please let me know if you have seen it anywhere or have it in your garden and what the cost would be for me to buy a couple of fans. I would like it for our garden, our friend who lost her daughter and as a gift to a municipal garden. Thanks in advance. Tammy

Welcome! to All Things Plants, Tammy!

I found the following on the internet, for the person that registered the daylily. This might be the best way to find a few fans.

Please contact Emily directly at [email protected] or via her cell phone at

We tried that already and I also emailed the other garden who lists it. But so far no answer.
Thanks for your help.

Just a suggestion, if you'd like to go in a different direction for a memorial gift: Check out Slightly Different Nursery. Paul Owen has a name-a-daylily program, with plants that he has bred (and his daylilies are GORGEOUS -- almost as beautiful as his personality and spirit). He was so incredibly helpful to me when my siblings and I wanted to name a daylily after my father, AND get it into his garden so it could bloom in time for him to see it before he passed away. The daylily we chose was planted in my father's garden, and also in all his children's gardens. We all just love going out in the morning to see whether "Dad" is blooming today.

Otherwise, I hope you're successful in finding 'Emily's Fiery Horse' -- it's a lovely thoughtful idea.
