I thought I took a Picture of the seed pods too, but I couldn't find it. They did fade to brown as they aged.

Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.

In many ways, that is a good way to put it, Mary Ann. Yes, I think when you are in front of any Iris in bloom it is a special moment, no matter what type or style or color. All of them are really breathtaking when you seem them up close.

Wonder if this is still going on ? 8 months ago from Denman55 ....

Don't have a preference like y'all do -- just so they grow! This garden and all the beauties within came with our home .. thus, I call it the Garden of Surprises ... since the 1st yr here, I documented digitally everything that came up and where.
Last year, I marked the locations of the Iris with color/date they bloomed/order bloomed.
There are 11 varieties.
From Gold digger bright yellow to a sublte yellow [almost white] .. love the beauty of them all.
Most recent was this morning .. my 'Party Gal ' bloomed !

Live like every day as it is your last because one day -- it will be.
(if I can find who said this, I'll credit that dear Soul -- wasn't me, but it makes a lot of sense)

This isn't a dress-rehearsal ~
