I thought I took a Picture of the seed pods too, but I couldn't find it. They did fade to brown as they aged.

In many ways, that is a good way to put it, Mary Ann. Yes, I think when you are in front of any Iris in bloom it is a special moment, no matter what type or style or color. All of them are really breathtaking when you seem them up close. Thumbs up

Wonder if this is still going on ? 8 months ago from Denman55 ....

Don't have a preference like y'all do -- just so they grow! This garden and all the beauties within came with our home .. thus, I call it the Garden of Surprises ... since the 1st yr here, I documented digitally everything that came up and where.
Last year, I marked the locations of the Iris with color/date they bloomed/order bloomed.
There are 11 varieties.
From Gold digger bright yellow to a sublte yellow [almost white] .. love the beauty of them all.
Most recent was this morning .. my 'Party Gal ' bloomed !

@Denman 55

I got Samurai Warrior from Bluebird Haven Iris Gardens. It is listed as being currently in stock. Or did you already get it?

I don't believe he has a membership under that name any more. I think his new user name is AlanJ.
