Need an inexpensive plant marker? This marker is cheap to make and almost invisible, too!

Why puffpaint? will the other craft paint in bottles that are not puff work?

Only reason to ask I have several paints from projects but no puff.

Cinda - I am sure that other fabric type paint would also work. I just happen to like the thick texture of that paint. You will need to have a fine point on the end of the tip though.

I say "fabric" paint too because it can withstand dampness from wet soil. Fabric paint is used on clothing typically and can be washed and dried (in heat) over and over again. So it seems to stay on the surface of whatever you use and doesn't fade.

I picked up supplies yesterday and will be starting my markers today. Not sure how they will do over winter, but it's worth a shot. Smiling
I'm typically one of those gardeners who can't abide the look of most markers, so I generally don't have much of anything showing above ground, but these just might work for me. They'd certainly be easier to find than trying to remember the exact spot of burial! Whistling

Thanks Becky!

Chelle - That is EXACTLY the reason I use them! You hit the nail on the head (so to speak). If some plant names are too long, you may have to abbrev. them! But at least the abbrev. will give you an idea what it is.

Please DO report back next year on this thread how they over-wintered for you. That is something I can not determine here in Florida, but such info would certainly be useful for many gardeners who live in those cold winter zones!

Thank YOU!
