I can start a new Daylily of the Day thread each day until I go back to work in 2 weeks, then I would appreciate it if some others here could jump in and start a new thread for the next cultivar in line each morning. Thank you!

If you have the Daylily Cultivar of the Day, please post any information that you feel should be mentioned about this cultivar growing in your garden. Photos of course are welcome, too. This cultivar thread link will be listed in the Daylily (cultivar) database file. The daylily will be featured for a day, but you can always add info at any time to the thread.

A few more that are not yet mature in my garden, but would be interested to see featured:
Almost All Green
Bela Lugosi
Destined to See
Sir Francis Drake
Mary Ethel Anderson

A little off topic, but... Regarding the data collection form, I would love to see some optional buttons or check boxes, such as "well branched", "fast increaser", "prolifs", etc. This way people could "comment", but it would be searchable.

It seems like Sir Francis Drake is a popular one. It was once in my list of interests, too.

I would also like to see the check boxes that you described. I'm all about anything that makes search results easier and more accurate. You may, however, wish to post these comments in one of the other two threads relating to this matter. (The initial thread: The thread "Bud and Branch Update Day!" in Daylilies forum or the thread with the announcement: The thread "Announcing Local Reports!" in Plant Database forum )

Cindy - I will add those 4, but am going to stop after that for the list. Once the entire list of cultivars on this thread have each been featured, I will start a new top 10 cultivar poll and compile the next list of cultivars to feature on the Daylily of the Day.

So even if something your have and really like is not on this current list, you will have the chance to add it to another poll thread.

Please, if you have favorites blooming right now, take some measurements and save the info somewhere to use as a reference when we feature that daylily in the future. I would love to know bud counts, branching, and scape height as well as increase in fans from one year to the next. How if fairs in your location in the heat of summer and the cold of winter. If you had to move it and why? And if it failed, that is good information too. Not all cultivars grow well in every zone and every garden.

I did mix up the poll list instead of going in order as I originally stated for obvious reasons. It has been fairer that way to allow others to add to the cultivar threads and earn acorns, too!

I really do think the acorns are a BIG motivator for members to post their performance evaluations!
