"If you have ever added a photo to the database it will appear over here" (not an exact quote but close)...that part is not exactly right. Only if your photo is rated the highest will it appear over there.
I think the video is a wonderful idea for newcomers to the site.
Next I am looking for one on use of the database...hint!

Well, I remember discussed that functionality and I thought I had implemented it. If not, I'll do it this morning. Smiling

Turns out that I had not implemented it, but it has now been implemented! If you have posted a photo to the plant in question, then that's the photo that will be used in your list. Smiling

Wow how cool!! Thank You Dave! This makes it really feel like MY plant list not just A plant list! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

The only drawback I see is that I don't always get the best photo. One of my plants shows the view of the sepals, another shows the roots. I would be nice if we could chose what showed up.

Good point, I had resolved to take more of those types of photos, but would not want it to show as my main photo. That is one reason that I did not give thumbs to photos of roots and scapes etc. if it would move it into first place. I thought it more important to show the bloom. Still I would have loved to have given it a thumb to show I appreciated that type of photo. Now I can give thumbs, but also now I may end up with a root photo instead of a bloom in my list.

I thought about that Jay but I couldn't think of a way to do it without unnecessarily complicating the interface. Right now the plant list system is very intuitive and simple. I'm concerned with making it too "busy."

I did make it, though, that your image with the most thumbs is the one that is used. Of course that doesn't really help you make the decision on your own.

Jay or anyone, if I can vote for a photo you had rather have, let me know!

@Horntoad
I think in some situations we would not want to bump a photo out of first place, even though that is not going to be so important now. But I think if necessary we could actually deduct a vote, and accomplish the same thing.
