I wonder if this is an old-timey medicine ball of some sort? Medicine ball is probably not the right term, since all those that I know of were made of leather. Perhaps exercise ball is a better term.

Next time Antiques Roadshow comes near you Jolana you will have to go & take that thing just so we can all find out what in the devil it is. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! No, I don't think it's antique but someone there has to know what it is.

I agree I agree with this as a possibility. If there were chains attached to the rings the ball portion could be placed on top of a post; then moved on or off and the chains would prevent it from escaping. Thumbs up

I like the idea of it being a 'toy' for the (indoor) monkey enclosure; that seems about right. If it were anywhere outside it would collect rain and encourage mosquito activity.

I'm not a modern person with a smart phone but seems there is an app for this purpose. There are apps where you can click a leaf or flower and get an ID and I'm pretty sure that recently I saw a 'what is this object' app. Anyone out there app-savvy?

Not the same as a Google Image search; this app is different. Google Image search relies on the use of words to describe an object.

The app works when you click a photo of the object using the smart phone; uses visual search and image recognition kind of like the digital fingerprint and face recognition machines the authorities use.

I'd drill a few drainage holes in the bottom, string some wire through the two "handles" to form a loop at the top for hanging and plant it with some pretty cascading flowers. Green Grin!

But first make sure the metal is not lead. Lead would not be a good thing.

Sorry Jay, I hadn't refreshed the page and didn't see your post. Just in the last year I got some kettle bells, for whatever reason they are easier in my fingers than the little dumb bells

I've always wanted to go to the antique road show but never had anything
A couple or 3 times a year we have the city wide garage sale downtown austin, I could probably take it there and find out

Too bad that vegas pawn shop isn't in Texas those farts seem to find out what everything is Rolling on the floor laughing

Oops *Blush* I must have missed that it contained metal ... yeah, could be hazardous if it contains lead.
