Dave has updated the Plant Database to now have the capability to add "local reports". Scroll down until you see "Local Reports". You can choose a location if any are submitted and click on "view full report". Or you can add your own report! A great new feature, IMHO!

This feature will be very helpful to all, if folks start adding their own reports when entering a photo or comment to a Plant in the database. I hope you will consider taking just a few moments more to add your own report.

Below is an example of how I did mine. I added info that I thought might be helpful to others in my area who want to know how specific plants perform here in Sebastian or on the central east coast of Florida. Just answer the questions and add what you think will be useful and helpful to others in the comment section. The comments section does have a limited amount of space you can use, so choose your words carefully to include all you wish to report.

Becky, not sure what that means, "My plant was received within a year"?

I got the plant last Fall. It has not been a year yet. A better way to word it?

Also, I DO want to include data from new plants acquired because some plants are tricky to get going. Some grow really slow and some don't miss a beat and just take off wherever they are planted. That is info I like to read about.

I really like the idea of including the plants age, because there is so much difference in a young plant's performance and a mature plant. Hope something can be worked out to maybe at least show a check box for something like "under two years in my garden", or "under three years in my garden"!

Love it! This will help to let me know if it's a problem with my garden or just a slow growing cultivar in general for everyone. It will give me more info before I choose to buy my next 'wanted' list.

Now everyone just needs to get busy adding info

I will plan to do some tonight on the pics I've added lately in the database. I tried adding some info on the caption, but this will be easier.

This could really be so helpful!! I am always wondering how would that one do here in my area? I needed this back 8 years ago. I would have saved myself lots of money!
