I just put Bayer 3in1 rose and flower care on my flowers (petunias, pansy, viola, English daisy) The plants are so thick I can't work it in. I mainly wanted to get the systemic protection for aphids. Will it still work if it's not worked into the top 2 inches of soil like the directions say?

Yes, working it in would help hold it in place when you water. Laying in the surface it might wash away to another area. Also by being buried, it is in full contact with the soil which would help it dissolve a little more efficiently than when it is laying on top of the soil where only the bottom is in contact.

Thanks, Horntoad. Have a daughter just moved to Houston. Gardening in Texas surely different than Idaho!
