It's wonderful to see all the daylilies still blooming this year. Normally, they would be pretty well done by this time, but all the rain has made a big difference. I love everyone's pictures and have learned so much from all of you. I won't bother with names, but here are a few of the plants still blooming.

Cindy.......I only received a single fan of 'Dovealicious', and it took 2 long years before it bloomed. It has expanded to 3 fans now and I baby the heck out of it. Dig some alfafa around the plant. As for 'Dragonfly Dawn' the same goes. DD is tender especially in our growing zone. Both plants need to settle in, and may need another year to feel at home. Make sure you winterize them well. I always worry about DD each Spring. It does have a mind of its own, and takes its time reappearing after a long Winter. No reason why both plants shouldn't do well if taken care of. Two beautiful plants!! Whistling

Alex- thank you for the info on RVE. I have begun to have a thing for saturated red Daylilies with a white edge, RVE looks like a good one.
Karen- Looks like you still have a lot of beautiful blooms, thanks for sharing them.
Cindy- Good luck with those two, no fun to lose a Daylily.

Alex, that is a nice picture of Painted Expressions.

Sue, I like the edges of Highland Lord. Looks a little like burning embers.

Wow, Karen! You have a lot still blooming. That last picture should be framed Smiling

Vicki.....Thank-you, but there is no excuse, I need to buy a new camera. This one is showing its age. Hate spending the money, but will give-in sometime this Fall and buy a new one. I brought 'Painted Expressions' directly from Nicole. She sent me 3 fans, and it has expanded to 7 fans. Once it gets going, its a veritable bouquet of blooms. Another one of my favs.

I'm going to echo everyone on saying how much I enjoy seeing all the images of what is blooming in your gardens each evening.
That is quite the collection of Nicole's daylilies Alex! I'm impressed with how well they are doing for you.
Glad I took some images this morning, severe storms have been coming through the past few hours. All the daylilies are shredded.

Blue Lustre, an oldie that does well here.

Glory to His Name, very pretty purple, a short one for the front of the bed.

Indigenous Expressions, having a bit of an attitude with it's sepals in the wee hours of the morning.

Lavender Blue Baby, looking mighty fine early this morning.

Pearls Before Swine, an older one of Curt's, has a light crepe texture.

Razzle Dazzle Candy, has been here since 2013 thought I lost it last spring. This year it came up much better and is blooming. Very pretty flower!

Everyone's daily photos here are just so wonderful. None blooming here now. You'd think that being in the warm south, that they would bloom and rebloom and maybe rebloom again. I guess not.

Alex - Your collection of Nicole's is awesome! If I ever get up to north FL during the Daylily Celebration Display weekend, hers is the one garden that I definitely want to see! Her flowers are very feminine and elegant! Dovealicious, Painted Expressions, and Elephant Ears are 3 that I really like of hers!

Karen - Wow! What a show!

Sue - That is really pretty! It sure put out a jaw-dropping double!

Char - Amazing show you're having right now, too!

Becky....If I lived in Florida, Nicole's garden would be the first display garden I would run to in the Spring. Would love, love, love to see it. And she gives a free plant to each person who attends on that weekend. I am sure I would order a ton of plants, and blow my budget for the summer!!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I have one more Nicole plant that I forgot to show yesterday. I brought this one from Nicole.

'Count Your Assets' - Nicole - 1st Flower this summer. This one will turn lavender as bloom season continues. Another huge bloom 7.5".

Close ups of 2 other Nicole blooms

'Enne Meany Jellybeany' - 6" bloom that also forms a bouquet of flowers.

And another real 'favorite of mine is:

'Nicole's Elephant Ear' - Pale pink almond-colored flower with a coral pink eye and edge. Another huge bloom at 7.5" - 8". (mega buds on this one)

Close-up of 'Susan Elinor'

Simply a gorgeous color and shape.

That's it for Nicole. Now for all the rest growing in my garden.

Here are two more daylilies with HUGE edges. For me getting a huge frilly edge up here in Vermont is not an easy task. Just like you need extended hot temps to get teeth formation on the newest toothy wonders, the same applies for big frilly edges. We had 1 day this summer at 90 degrees, and both these daylily's were blooming at that time. Hallelujah! Another reason, I love Nicole's plants. They outperform in my garden in the Northeast. The following 2 daylilies carry huge edges. I adore both of these plants, but neither has shown me a decent edge until one day a few weeks ago.

Both are huge blooms.

'Ted's Tribute to Linda' - 8" bloom - simply huge. This is the best bloom I have seen on this plant as far as edge goes. It is a spectacular plant but hangs up on me when trying to open. Now this isn't a perfect edge but its pretty darn good. A beautiful lavender bloom surrounded by a yellow edge with yellow eye. This is the 3rd yr. in my garden. Love, love, love this plant.

The second daylily with edge problems that did very well this summer, and another fav. of mine is:

Thumb of 2015-08-04/ARoseblush/14e953 <--->

'Elvis' - Lavender cream, 6.5" bloom. This plant is crossed with 'Best Edge'. Took along time to grow in my garden (3 yrs) but sent up two scapes this summer on 4 fans. Edges are not perfect but getting there. I love this plant as well.

Both plants are still blooming in the garden.

Thanks Karen, It's one of the few reds that I own. I generally like pinks, and purples with eyes and edges, but I love Red Rooster, and it 's a late bloomer for me.

Sdlg. 'Linda Sierra' X 'Lavender Exultation' - This sdlg. is a permanent fixture in the main garden. Bloom size is 7.5" and its scape size is 36". It's a 'plane jane' daylily but it adds so much color to the garden, that everyone walking by my house always comments on it. When it's really hot, the color is bright red, and now with cooler nights, it turns a bright fuchia color. It's also a long bloomer. I really should give it a name. Any ideas??

Alex- What a great collection of Daylilies you have been sharing, I really like the deep purple of Caesar Augustus, I don't think I have seen that shade of purple on a Daylily before, its stunning. Two Shades of Lipstick, would be my suggested name for your seedling, if the red is as bright as the fuchia it is showing now, great looking seedling Green Grin!

Thank you for the thumbs and acorns!
Red Rooster sure is a bright one, I like colors that pop in the garden from a distance. Nice green throat on Who's That Girl....

With the warm days the blooms have been opening well, the showers every day are leaving some a bit wet or spotted....

Alone Again, the color on this one is amazing! The violet eye and edge are so clear and vibrant.

Creek Ruffles, a favorite sculpted form from Katisue Herrington, very different from the unusual forms the Herringtons are known for.

Escape Artist, back in 2006 the theme for the Region 2 Summer Meeting was "The Great Escape". Each attendee was given a gift plant with "escape" somewhere in the name. The meeting was a blast.... Smiling

Two more pleated sculpted forms, Life on Bajore and Piece of My Heart.

See Me-Feel Me-Touch Me, pretty edge on this one.

Better images of the sculpted cristate Tiki God.

First year blooming here, love the warm tropical colors!

Tall, with strong sturdy scapes. Great parent for height and nicely branched scapes!

Alex - Your taste in daylilies .... is the same as my taste! You really have a great collection!!!

As far as a name for your seedling ... could you name it after a relative .... in memory of or in honor of? Or something like .... Bright Eyed Beauty.

Char - Some more beauties! I am so glad you are adding them to the Plant Database! Very nice additions and eye-popping gorgeous photos!
