Though I've selected possibilities from online, I'm still waiting for the catalog to arrive in the mail to browse though and maybe revise my list.

I am curious what you iris devotees would order so please tell me your five favorites (or more). I'd love to know.

Thanks so much.

Arlene, any particular qualities you're looking for? Like color, size, selections for a mixed bed, etc. Most of us could pick 5 favorite pinks, 5 favorite historics, 5 favorite border bearded, etc. I've come to realize iris fans are over the top addicts, LOL.

And I would look online too, there is a greater selection online than what's offered in the catalog.

Neal - no particular qualities, just the most beautiful regardless of size or type.

I'm on my third look, Philip, and keep finding more beauties.

Thanks, Celia. I'll take at look at Fangnificent! I was up to F anyhow but didn't see it. http://www.schreinersgardens.c...

Thanks. I had that one on my computer list but was going through Award Winners. I appreciate your help.

I looked the other day and made a list, I looked again today and some of the ones I had on my yesterday's list were not one today's list.
Also look at the ATP database for the Iris your interested in. Sometimes it will give you a better idea of the real color of the Iris.

The real color is very important to me so that's why I was taking my time double checking and triple checking.

Last year I bought Concertina at Lowe's and it turned out exactly like the photos. I've had too many disappointments, mainly with daylilies not being true (or even close) to the photos online.

The first iris I would buy from Schreiner's would be Owyhee Desert (my avatar). It is only sold by them, never on sale. Smells wonderful and the bloom stands out in the garden since it is unusual. It is not the fastest increaser but has bloomed every year for me. And yes, I am giving you an extremely biased choice!

Do you have any color in mind? There are several I would recommend depending on color.

Got to agree with Leslie on this -- Owyhee Desert should be on your list whatever else you order!!! Smiling

Thank you so much, Leslie. I just put it on my list and copied photos of it for reference.

No specific color. I'm open to any color or height.

Thanks, Mary Ann.

It would probably do well in your zone. It doesn't like us in New England.

Arlene - is there any price limit on the ones you get with your certificate? I know some of theirs can be pricey, so I would hate to say you should get this one and it is a $40 iris!!

No real limits on price. I only have limits on space. Thanks for your help, Leslie. You are a gem!

Copatonic is spectacular!!! Also gotta give a thumbs-up for Cupid's Arrow. I grow both of these, and consider them to be *must have* Irises!!
