I think I worry about the larger, unrecognized snakes here. I don't run across many on my property but I'm sure there are places where they hide. I generally leave the wildlife alone unless they start damaging stuff or pose a threat to humans.

Googling - garter snakes do eat earthworms and there's a variety called Eastern worm snake that mainly eats worms but also other creatures.
