Christine, the one link says that Bundleflower only gets 1-3 feet and this is already taller than that.

I wonder if it could be Sesbania? There are a few that grow in Florida.

Scarlet Wisteria (Sesbania punicea)

Rattlebox (Sesbania drummondii)

edited to add:
Hummingbird Tree (Sesbania grandiflora)

Lin, I was thinking it looked like Rattlebox plants I've seen. It's just so hard to tell which is the native and which isn't. And one is invasive so I don't want that in the yard. I may have to wait until it flowers to tell, but I'm not sure when it's going to do that. I didn't see anything that looked like buds or where flowers might form.

Geesh, I didn't even look at the other posts before I made my guess. I wonder if it could it be the invasive Mimosa Tree (Albizia julibrissin)

Also, the Desmanthus virgatus grows in your area:

I didn't even think about Lead Tree (Leucaena leucocephala) but that's another possibility and another non-native invasive here in Fla.

I'm going to have to wait until this thing blooms, aren't I? Hilarious! I'll keep a close eye on it for when it does. I need to know whether to yank it as fast as I can, or move it to a better spot in the yard!

Melanie, one key will be to watch for color changes of the stems as it grows older. I noticed some of the possibilities had reddish or brownish stems.

Thanks, Ann. I'll keep an eye out for changes and photograph accordingly.
