Sometimes a plant just stops you in your tracks. Romanesco is one of those plants both in the garden and on your plate.

Wow--that is a neat looking vegetable and those are great photos for the database (hint hint) Thumbs up
Does the taste/texture more resemble broccoli or cauliflower? (I really like cauliflower--broccoli not so much)

It's more like cauliflower both in taste and texture but is unique in it's self at the same time. If you enjoy cauliflower I'm sure you'll enjoy romanesco and kids seem to like it too, at least mine do. The best part is I don't have to drown it in cheese sauce for them to eat it either like I do broccoli. just steam then add a little butter, salt, and pepper and they tear it up. I like raw veggies for the most part but it's not good raw but neither is cauliflower or broccoli to me.

@dirtdorphins - thanks for asking this question; I, too, was wondering about the taste.

@ediblelandscapingsc - thank you for the article! I hope you'll continue to share more. I work hard to create a largely edible landscape in my own yard (from veggies, to fruit to edible flowers) and any time someone posts about a picturesque veggie that might actually taste good, I get excited!

Me too.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Thanks everyone, I tip my hat to you. I'm glad people are showing an interest in edibles and see the beauty in them . I'll try to do a few more articles over the next few weeks.

I'll have seeds in spring I can share with everyone for postage but I'm all out for fall planting. If you haven't found any by next spring remind me and I'll send you some and anyone else who wants to try them.
