Christine - Oh Thank you! I really appreciate your stats on your plant. Yes, I suspect it might do even better if it were not competing with others so close by. Glad you are going to give it a chance to show off in a different location. Thanks for checking and recording the buds and branches as well as the height! Beautiful bloom photo, too! I have had Lavender Stardust for 3 years. It performs perfectly in zone 6b and it has grown enough so that I have been able to divide it.

I have it in my zone 5 garden west of Chicago (which just became 6) but I am west of the line.

I never realized it seems to change color in the afternoon because my husband always takes pictures in the morning. We have this daylily in the backyard facing east.

Lindalee - That is a gorgeous morning photo of Lavender Stardust! Thanks for sharing your picture (tell your husband thanks if he took that photo)! If it is still blooming for you, I would love to know the stats of your plant. How many buds were on the scape, how tall is the scape, and how many branches were on 1 of your scapes? How long have you had this plant?

I am interested to read if it performs the same or different depending on where you live and your climate zone.

( @hillbilly ) Boyd - Thank you for posting that info. Thank You! When you say increases fast .... could you please elaborate and tell me how many fans it had last year compared to this year? Did it double, triple in size?

Lavender Stardust pods. This is a late blooming cultivar, so I crossed it with itself and also got two pods with Fol de rol (another late bloomer) . Should be an interesting cross with fdr. It makes nice big pods. Won't know though how many seeds in each pod until they are ripe. Confused

Lavender Stardust was transplanted into a new raised bed in October 2015. Unfortunately, this bed is receiving more shade than I originally expected due to a neighbor's tree. Lavender Stardust has increased to 4 fans, but did not bloom for me this year.

Seeing Becky's posts reminds me to post on some of the same ones I grow. 'Lavender Stardust' has had some rust, but has performed pretty well. I did have blooms down in the foliage at one point, but then on rebloom later the scapes were taller and the blooms were up over the foliage.
Blooms were down in the foliage here.
Thumb of 2016-09-30/Seedfork/9b5b27
Here the blooms were up higher:

Even today, no blooms but you can see a seedpod (bees) and you can see it still has buds up high that should still bloom.
Thumb of 2016-09-30/Seedfork/2451ae
The plant foliage is not perfect but for this time of year it still looks very presentable I think.

I bought this cultivar (2 pots- five fans) this summer, finally got it in the ground in September and it is doing beautifully. It bloomed while potted up over the summer. I did a self-cross with the last flower (just to see), and harvested one seed that I'll germinate next spring.

I grow this beauty in Zone 3, Manitoba, Canada and it does very well. Lovely soft colour, divides and increases well. Indispensable.
