Mine is not as I'd like it. I'd like it back to as it arrived: up on a mound of sphagnum moss. Is it the wrong time for me to do this? Thanks, Lee

I'm a bad one to ask since I HATE sphagnum and don't use it. I think sphagnum is mounded to show them (in Shows).

I don't know Boo. When I received mine from Orchids Limited they recommended it be planted in a mound of sphagnum. I'll check further. Lee Confused

Well, I can't go near the stuff but I spray daily since most of my orchids are mounts. Mine are tied to upside down clay pots, in netty pots with coco fiber, in tree fern...but no sphagnum!

Big Grin at your aversion to sphagnum. I'm not to fond of it either as I'm used to bark. Lee

Boo, don't scream too loudly but today I repotted the Neo. in sphagnum. I called Orchids Limited from where I bought mine and the guy told me how to get it to be on top of the sphagnum mound as it was when it arrived.
I'm sure this isn't the best time to transplant but I was obsessing over it as it had looked so pretty when I got it. And the little flowers were great and had a nice, soothing fragrance.
Am going to have to order at least a quarter cubic yard of med. size fir mix so I'll have it on hand as Spring approaches.
It seems like there are so many mixes these days but I'm just going to stick with what I know instead of trying the other mixes. Same with my vented clay pots. It was they I used when I first started growing the orchids and I'm comfortable with them but it's the dickens to find a place which will ship them due to the possibility of their breaking on route.
