Hi folks: Here are a few pictures of a shade garden I created in my back corner garden area. I will try to add more later. Like all gardeners, always adding and changing.

I am a newbie to both sites and seem to get lost since I have been jumping all around and having a great time reading all these topics. I have a very old computer and it does not have enough room on the hard drive for any more pictures to be added. I will have to try to add directly from camera, if computer will stay awake long enough.

Great site. Love it.

Love your stumpage Doglover! I too comb the woods for roots and stumps that are unique.....we just recently moved and I brought mine along. What kind of dog is that? Cool eyes!

Hi everyone: Thank you for all your wonderful compliments, especially about my sweet dog "Shylo".

One thing I see we all have in common is our love for animals and plants. I will try to make it over to garden art. Most of the old stumps are actually from an elderly friends woods. Wonderful times searching for those stumps. Many days searching for trilliums, jack-in-the-pulpits, mayapples, virginai bluebells, solomon seals, bloodroot and so many more woodland plants which have all contributed to my shade gardens. I created my own "woodland venue" since I am not fortunate to have my own woods. I garden on only 1 acre including my house.

We had to take down a 150 year old maple tree from our front yard a couple years ago and I have saved many unique pieces, that when I finish with them, I will add when I get to garden art. Unfortuantely, a lot of our animal friends lost their home when that old tree came down. So many memories in that tree.

I have included a couple pictures that have been created in a glass globe photo editing program, while I am trying to locate originals. Meanwhile, here is a couple fun pictures created using Dumpr. Do not know if they actually fit here, but we all understand the connection we have with our love of nature, and of course-crafts. .

Keep the pictures coming. I'll try to add more shade pictures later. Great thread.

Cool pics! And I agree looking for plants and stumps is great way to spend the day......especially early spring after being cooped up all winter long. I have many of the same plants in my gardens too. Can't wait to see more pics of your gardens. Is Shylo a Austrialian Sheperd?

Hi everyone: Thanks for all your wonderful compliments for "Shylo". She is a mixed breed we found at the animal shelter so I do not actually know what breed she really is. She just needed to be saved, when she was 8 weeks old. I love all dogs and animals, as I see most of us do.

Hard to keep up with all of my new friends here. I'm trying. I'm a newbie. Thanks for the warm welcome. Great site!

Beautiful, beautiful animal pictures of all our cherrished members of our families. As I am sure you can all agree, they are number 1 over our gardens.I am glad everyone is sharing all of their pet pictures along with plant and garden pictures.

The old stove was left in a storage garage when my son rented it. I believe the owner of the garage said it was to heavy for them to lift so they left it as junk. Just my luck my son thought of me and saved it for me.
.
Isn't it wonderful the things we decide to put into our gardens. All you need is an imagination. Will try to add more shade pictures later, computer working very slow. Thanks everyone.

Hi doglover, and welcome.

Wow, Shylo's eyes are so cool. Our old neighbor had a husky with one blue eye and one dark. I stared at him a lot!
