I've only seen this one from the garden I got it from (with permission ). Never seen it in Nursery stores. Don't have one in bloom now but that foliage is unique, and it spreads by underground runners I think. Certainly seems to pop up where you least expect it. Growth height is about 30 inches. I'll post a bloom if I can find it in my photo archives.

thank you Lin. That does look about right. I just need to check the blooms when it comes out. I did not think mine was as orange but that foliage and bloom head is exactly right.

It sure looks like Spiral Ginger (Costus malortieanus) to me and the database could use a few more photos.
