Me three. How exciting Becky. I read the entire thread. Did you ever figure out what to seal them with that will hold up in all this heat and hot hot sun? Mine will be in the garden and I will need the best concrete sealer out there, what ever that is.

Debbie, I think using Wet Seal that Chris uses will be best.

NOTHING was sealed in this backyard where I painted all over the place:

I painted all of this on concrete, outside, and it was over 5 years when the client called to have me refresh it. I personally liked it like it was, faded and soft but the new color was eye popping too. It's been 8 years now.

I always use Krylon on the bricks but I'll seal the entire thing with the Wet Seal instead from now on.

I am half way finished and will complete them tomorrow and post Monday night when everyone is sleeping.

Well Becky, you've gone and done it. I'm pulling out my paints. Everything is sooo pretty. What an awesome fireplace and the walls. I can't paint like you do, but I have to start somewhere. Can't wait to see what else you come up with. And "Wet Seal"? I don't remember seeing that on the threads. Where do I get it and how does it come? And on my little garden fences and wood items I put out in the garden, I also used the acrylic paints and Krylon clear acrylic over them and with all this rain we have been having, they still look great.

Chris uses Wet Seat on her QuikWall creations. So I think it will be perfect for the bricks. Not that the Krylon doesn't but one friend told me he brick gets watered every day with her plants and just the edges are peeling up a speck. But it's 15 years so I'm not too concerned.

Just a little tease here:

When I went to buy the tree rings I was bummed because they aren't attached...they come in groups of three now.

Well, let me tell you this was smart of the concrete people....easier to carry and they attach with little grooves so you can build a giant village!

I call mine Hartford Villages and number them. Maybe it will create interest to keep your building.

I promise to post later tonight but will create a new thread for them so it can start out as a tutorial. I'll post the new one here.

It makes me happy you wanted a tutorial. because a lot of people don't want to bother painting. (to those I say BUY MY HOUSES! )
