Casey was very special to me -- I have 3 blog posts about her here. One of them references Black Diamonds, because I had seen these crepe myrtles at Home Depot, but they only had the ones with red flowers. The one with white flowers is a more appropriate choice for my black/white girl. And I was mistaken - it's been 2 years since I lost her. Seems 3 of my last 4 blog posts were about her, and I haven't updated my blog since then. I should fix that. Whistling

I was very impressed too when I saw all the crepe myrtles they are donating for the NARR. It stopped me in tracks as I was reading all the prized!

Mary you struck a heart cord with me ~ So sorry of your loss of sweet Casey ~ I love your idea of a white Crepe Myrtle

I lost my Beautiful Maggie Mae (my avatar photo) this year. She was the sweetest dog ever & my best friend. Her life was taken too soon with cancer in January.

I think about her everyday, and my heart truly aches. She was a gift from Angels and she has gone back to be with them.

I looked at the white crepe myrtle in this contest and I agree, that would be perfect as a memorial for Maggie Mae as well. I really like that the foliage is in a contrasting dark color. I see that there are 8 chances to win a crepe myrtle, I'm going to spend all my acorns too and I hope you and I each win a Pure white Crepe Myrtle.
