Background history:

"Stenciled Infusion" is a tetraploid semi-evergreen introduced in 2013 by Guy Pierce. Karen and Guy operate Floyd Cove Nursery, which has been around for over 30 years. It is located in Enterprise, Florida. For more information about their Daylily Nursery:
http://www.distinctly.on.ca/fl...

Check out this older video about Floyd Cove Nursery:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

This cultivar can be found in the ATP Plant Database:
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Stenciled Infusion')

According to the AHS database, it is listed as having a bud count of 40 and 8 way branching. Those stats alone make me want to see (and possibly own) this one!

Please join in, if you own this plant! We would love to know more! (I award an acorn for performance information posted on this thread.)

Also, please consider adding a "Local Report" to the ATP Plant Database!!! Thank you!

I have Stenciled Infusion for two years now. I love it, it is very showy. As far as bud count I have never counted but it blooms and reblooms. Seems like it blooms for a long time. It is pod fertile for me but difficult, however the pollen is very fertile. This is how it looked this year.

Dot - Thanks for your comments. I sincerely love the fact that it puts on a long show for you. Are the blooms approximately 6.25 inches as is listed? If so, that is very, very impressive to me! The 30" scapes are sturdy and hold up all those flowers?

I found an interesting comment on a blog site of Shadow Wood Daylily Garden ( http://shadowwoodgardens.blogs... ) :

"Stenciled Infusion produced 7 proliferations, which
are small plantlets that grow out of the bracks on a scape.
We waited until roots formed, cut the scape leaving
half an inch or so above the proliferation, and about two
inches of the scape just below the prolif, then planted them
in an outside bed. The scape helped to hold the prolifs
in place in the soil. The proliferations are identical to the
mother plant, so it is an excellent method for increasing the
number of plants. We had many proliferations
throughout the garden this year.
These plantlets are all growing quite well. We added new
mulch to the beds for winter protection.

Update: Many seedlings using both pod and pollen.
Stenciled Infusion is a great parent."

These blooms are so pretty and to be a great increaser .... WOW!!! I wonder how rust resistant it is?
This is dangerous reading about the featured Daylily of the Day. I want this one!!! Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Will have to wait a while for the price to come down though ....

Beautiful Daylily, I would be interested in knowing if anyone has had success with it in the North. Becky, glad to see you link Shirlee's blog, she has pictures of many beautiful seedlings, and good info about named Daylilies as parents.

In the database it says minimum hardiness to zone 4 which sounds not bad.

I may have to get this one. I am supposed to be downsizing but this one is absolutely gorgeous.

Love love LOOOOOOOVE this one. It was an impulse addition to my order from Floyd Cove last year (lacking self control I know... Whistling ) and I could not be happier. Went through 3 rounds of scapes last year and is starting to put up a rebloom scape now but I'm going to cut it so that it will put the energy into multiplying. I haven't measured but the blooms tend to be in the 5-6 inch range for me. Unfortunately I don't know about the hardiness since I overwintered it indoors last year. It has tended to be on the resistant side but not extremely resistant to rust. Last year I had a couple new plans come up from Florida that were absolute rust buckets and SI fared much better.

I've found it to be pod and pollen fertile. I did not have trouble setting pods on it but my expectations may be lower than in southern states. The pollen tends to be very pale yellow and at first glance would make me think it was bad, but I've had little trouble using it.

On their website, they are selling a double fan for $150, so the LA auction is a good buy if you can manage to get it a lot cheaper. But it IS a 6 + day auction and the closer to the auction close, the higher the prices go up. Good to know the seller has a good reputation though, if you decide to bid on that particular auction. Thumbs up
