This vine-ground over is planted everywhere in Oklahoma. (Except in my garden)
I haven't seen it at any nurseries.
What's the name of it?


This other plant looks similar just a different color, I'm guessing that they are in the same family.

Sweet potato vine?

Yep, Sweet Potato vine. Lots of folks plant this as an ornamental. There are regular green ones, lime green, dark/almost black, variegated, and probably more. Oh, and the lacy-leaf one is another pretty one.

Look in the ATP database under 'Ipomoea batatas' to see all the different types.

I always look in the "Periannals" section at nurseries, I'll have to look somewhere else for that!

LOVE me some Sweet Potato vine! I have it in hanging pots but the neighbo-rs have the bright lime g-reen one in a flower bed. I love the b-right green color. I have a variegated, t-ri-color variety. It was that way when I bought it. But I can't seem to keep the pretty var-igation.
