Now that the season is winding down i thought this was a good way boast about my purchases this year. As always and with many of us space can be at a premium but where there is a will there is a way.
So if you are like me and are proud of your latest acquisitions please post away. It should be quite interesting.
Here are some of my new babies.
Antique Nouveau
Holloween Trick
Rumanian Rendevous
Persimmon Punch
Spartacus Adorned
Norwood Carter
Tooth
Magic Amethyst
Guided By Voices
Joan Derifield
Highland Pinched Fingers
Maxfield Parrish
Frivolous Frills
Awesome Candy
Andy Candy

Some of these are small 2 fan starts while others are entire clumps. I cannot wait till 2016.
Please ignore lack of question mark in my title. Duh.

In the past 12 months, I have actually added registered daylilies. Before that, my 200 - 300 daylilies were all grown from seeds (seedlings). So I am proud to say that I actually DO own registered daylilies now. Most of them were obtained because of their rust resistance to use in my hybridizing efforts (as well as to enjoy the lovely green foliage and pretty blooms throughout the year here in Florida).

They include:

Lavender Stardust
Siloam Double Classic
Fol de rol
Raspberry Beret
Dynasty Pink
Paper Butterfly
Betty Warren Woods
Best Kept Secret
Calgary Stampede
Gleber's Top Cream
Jedi Brenda Spann
Sings the Blues
Lady Neva
Mister Lucky
Beautiful Edgings
Planet Max
Gadsden Goliath
Emperor Butterfly
Spanish Sketch
Apple Swirl
Lovely Pink Lady
Persian Pattern
Judge Roy Bean
Duchess of D'Orlean

And the ones still to arrive in Sept:
Chinese Scholar
All Fired Up
Spiny Sea Urchin
Moonlight Orchid
Neon Rainbow
Wild One
Gram's Dream
Springfield Clan
Red volunteer
Galaxy Explosion
Kipling

For a total of 35 cultivars. That is many more registered daylilies than I ever expected to own total!!! Big Grin

Becky, Spiny Sea Urchin did very well for me this year. I got it last fall on ebay and I loved it....not sure if it is a rebloomer.

Yeah Jerry i was going to say just top 20 for some folks with lots of space but there are so many cultivars you can still have quality with quantity. Lol.
Pat, Sabine Baur is simply gorgeous and i almost got Earth Music but i fear the local hybridizer i get all mine from let it go for free to make room for seedlings and i missed out on it.
I also forgot some of mine.

Lavender Blue Baby
Marvelous Light
Isle of Dreams
Ellis Powell

I noticed a lot of people have Beautiful Edgings and this year mine looked better than ever with record rainfall in June that we had. I guess you cannot over water as long as it drains good.

Kevin, I got Earth Music as a bonus from one of my ebay orders. I had never heard of, but after googling it, I'm glad she sent it. I got Lavender Blue Baby from Gilbert H Wild a two years ago and it has not bloomed. It was a very very small fan, but I've seen some pictured here and it is beautiful. I got my eyes on Ellis Powell for the spring. I just need more space!

Pat - Thanks for the heads-up about Spiny Sea Urchin! I can't wait to get that last group of daylilies, get the large raised bed created, and get them all planted and cozy in their new homes! And then next Spring I hope to see a stunning show in my little yard! Thumbs up

What do you do with all those besides fawn all over them like i would? Do you sell or welcome visitors?
Have you started crossing yet? I have to start crossing next year but have to add another bed first.
Please list until your hearts content. A few i have many i have heard of and so many never heard of but would love to see.

Pat you will have to post pic when Earth Music blooms next year. I just got 1 big fan of Ellis Powell but the garden where i got it had big gorgeous clump. I kept asking for the price every time i went over and finally got it for 15. So different from anything i had yet.

Pat - Sad Thumbs down Sorry to hear that Gilbert H. Wild sent you the wrong daylily. I have sure been reading some not so good reports about this nursery lately. Confused Sad

Kevin - My daylilies are for hybridizing. No one here locally grows daylilies, so I grow them just for me and my hybridizing hobby. My goal is to get some worthy seedlings to register and name after loved ones. And then give them as gifts in memory of or in honor of the person they are named after. Smiling

Sorry Becky my questions were meant for Gerry and all his new plants and i did not make it clear at all.
I always thought if i could get started with hybridizing and got one registered i would name it after my late grandmother Elenore Jane if i thought it was worthy of her memory. I think what you are doing is great and makes the hobby for you and family very personal. What better way to honor someones memory than to take a living and growing thing of beauty that is one of kind just like they were in life.

I bought two seedlings this year to put some new genes in my dip UF hybridizing efforts. I have almost stopped buying registered daylilies because I am not a collector, if I don't want it to work with I will not buy it.
