Cindy - I LOVE that Scandinavia! What a tall beauty! Definitely a good one to own!
Betty - 1/3 acre. Hmmm ... my property is 1/4 acre, but I have a home on my property too. Is your home also located on your property? I ask because I am trying to figure out how to squeeze more daylily beds around my yard. How many in-ground daylily beds do you have and what is the size of them? (I hope you don't mind my being nosy....?)
I think I was very lucky this year because for some reason, the majority of my daylilies bloomed in May before the real heat of summer hit. Which may be why I had such good luck with seed production this year. I can understand your frustration with the bloom season and the heat index when trying to hybridize.

Unfortunately for me, that is not true .... yet. Maybe I can create some rust resistant cultivars that will get the attention of other local gardeners and see daylily interest return here.... I would love to be able to join a local club and see them for sale at the local nurseries. Maybe in my lifetime .... would sure be nice!
