I want to add my pictures to the plant database but I can't find the right names for it.

Mine looks different it's only red when it's young and blooming. When it is done blooming it turns to a regular pineapple color.

I've established that the Latin word "Ananas" means Pineapple and "nanus" means dwarf. So, the scientific name for my plant would be "Ananas- nanus". My dwarf pineapple is the standard color, not the red often seen in dwarf varieties. Based on my research, regardless of the color, the genus and species name will remain the same. Hurray!

Heath, if you're looking for Ananas nanus it's now a synonym for Dwarf Pineapple (Ananas comosus var. microstachys) Since this is a species there is no trade name or series.

Thanks....I've been fighting with this plant for a couple of days. I think I got it figured out now and I look forward to adding more plants to the database. Thank You!
