I have some lilies ordered from Van Engelen and a gardener is sending daffs.
I am still recovering from knee replacement in June. Rumor has it I wont be 100% until next June. I believe it. Stamina isnt there and energy is still low plus bending is difficult.

Imay have DD do the digging.

Jo Ann, take it easy and allow your knee to heal. Get all the help you can from your family. I hope you're continuing to make a good recovery.

Which lilies did you get from Van Engelen?

Nice order Marilyn!

I'm already getting excited about the bulbs I ordered, that should be arriving soon. The weather has cooled down, and we're getting a lot of rain, which should make it easier to amend the soil, and get the bulbs planted.

Received an email from Living Gardens that my (100) tulip bulbs will arrive this Saturday, October 3. Don't have any bed(s) ready for them yet, as I'm still trying to get them amended, in between the showers/rain and the cooler temps we're having.

Didn't want the vibrant tulip mixture to be sold out, when I ordered, so I had to order when I did. They stated in an email that the bulbs would be sent a few days after ordering.

After looking at the colorful pic in the link (above), I can't wait to see them in the spring!

LOL Kabby!

Marilyn, you are on a roll aren't you! Loving the choices you've made! Do you ever dig and store any tulips to encourage longevity? I'm curious because I started doing that this year, and have several bags of tulips to replant.

I am on a fixed income these days with a lot of land. I retired so I could garden until my hearts content and not run out of space to plant whatever my money could buy. I picked up a 3+ acre property.

Slowly getting rid of the grass and discovered why there was so much grass. We have a deer, groundhog, rabbit problem that can eat you out of house and home. I have been buying about 300 bulbs a year because it seems to be my limit that my body can plant. Another issue I did not consider with "That garden until my heart's content" I should have added end of the money, and body's willing content. Rolling on the floor laughing

I have purchased from my local nursery so far. Tulips and some of the bulbs will go into my patio pots. Fragrant bulbs I will force for winter indoor pleasure.

I usually hit Lowes and HD at the end of the season and pick up the sales.

Both Negrita and Shirley are strong, well growing tulips that every year produces a good amount of blooming sized new bulbs here (with annual lifting). I haven't tried Innuendo but it sure looks lovely Smiling .

This is the one I really wanted to get last night.... Colorblends Mood Indigo. http://www.colorblends.com/Who...
but I couldn't spend all the money now to reach the $60 minimum again. So I went looking for a purple tulip that would cost less money at this time. (it would have been $80 to get 200 of Mood Indigo, including the $12 shipping).

I'll get Mood Indigo next year when I first order from Colorblends.
