I bought 'Siloam Double Classic' ten years ago or so when I was on a daylily shopping trip with my dad. We both bought one. What started as two fans is now at least 20 and I have given chunks away, on at least two different occasions over those years. It always produces many, many stalks with very nice double flowers. I haven't ever fussed over it, except maybe that first year (as that is what I tend to do with all brand new ones). It's a keeper for me. Lovey dubby

I've had 'Siloam Double Classic' here for many years and it's certainly hardy but currently it is in the shade of a tree and doesn't like it very much. It did flower this year but not much and I didn't get a good picture. If I recall correctly the earlier flowers this year were single also, which confused me initially since I'm trying to reconcile my faded label daylilies with my map! This is an older picture from years ago.

Yours is pink, like mine. Other growers seem to get more coral. I'm anxious to see what color I get once it gets settled into my garden. Those first blooms were from being in the pot from the growers and could have been much different conditions than it will get in my garden.

I always got peachy colored blooms both in zone 10 & up here in zone 8. Also, my cousin in San Antonio gets peachy blooms as does my friend in Montgomery AL.

I think some of the pinkiness in my old picture might be related to the camera. The picture I took this July is more peachy. I didn't initially post it because it wasn't a very good bloom, but here's the colour with a different camera, also growing in more shade.

I have had Siloam Double Classic since 2011 every year it has performed better and better. It is true to the AHS description. This year it bloomed on 6/4 and didn't stop until the end of July. I definitely see why it is a Stout Medal daylily. Attached is the first blooms this year.

Siloam Double Classic is just that a classic. I have continuous blooms over a month long and fan increase each year. It is a must have daylily for any gardener and one that can be shared with others.

SDC was the first daylily I bought when I started my garden about 9 years ago. It is still one of my favorites. It flowers profusely for me every year (sorry, no bud count) and the blooms have a heavenly fragrance. It also increases quite rapidly for me. I remember the first time I divided it after about 3 years. 3 fans had become 16. Whenever I divide it I put a patch somewhere else in my yard. It is one of the earliest daylilies to bloom. My only regret is that it is not a re-bloomer.

I have about 10 'Siloam' cultivars (or more) and they all do well in my zone 4B garden. Interesting, in that they were bred in Arkansas. SDC does well here, but others are more prolific.

I grew this one for many years but ended up selling all of it. Always a long bloomer for me with maybe some instant rebloom. Multiplied fast and I don't remember being bother with the height of the scapes. Almost 100% doubles for me. It does have a slight frangrance and is diamond dusted. I found the color to be a little cloying. May just be that I dont't care for the pink peach look very much. Overall really a great plant and sometimes I wish I had saved some of it.

I just purchased 'Siloam Double Classic' last summer (July 2014) and love the double bloom! The few DL's I have are in containers and 'Siloam Double Classic' did not bloom this year, either due to the weather; Hot and dry, Hot and wet, Hot and dry or lack of proper care on my part. *Blush* . These photos are from last summer:

Siloam Double Classic has been amazing for me. I bought it in spring of 2014 as a double fan, and it put up a scape and bloomed within weeks after I planted it. Then bloomed again some time in the summer, two nice sturdy scapes.

This year, it bloomed starting in April for nearly a month, took a rest then bloomed non-stop from late May through June. We had a very warm, wet spring this year so I learned how much it likes to be watered. I just checked on it this morning and it is showing signs of putting up some more scapes now. I planted two more plants in my kids' gardens in Salt Lake City this spring, and at least one of them is doing great so far. I didn't get to see the other on my latest visit.

This is a terrific performer for a daylily in south/central Florida. Beautiful flowers that last all day, and smell great. True, the first few blooms in the spring were not double but the rest made up for that.

I've really enjoyed reading the evaluations about this cultivar since I recently acquired it. It is in fact the first daylily that I have noticed has a distinct (soft, but lovely) scent!

Elaine - Thank you for posting how many times it has been reblooming for you! Thumbs up

I transplanted my plant to a raised bed, in October 2015, which unfortunately is receiving some shade throughout the day. Siloam Double Classic didn't seem to miss a beat from the transplant. It is probably my only "clump" to date of a registered cultivar.

The foliage continues to look wonderful. This is one of the many reasons I love this daylily! It has increased nicely for me. Even with more shade in it's current location, I did see a nice increase in the number of scapes and blooms ... as I expected .... given that this cultivar has increased from 2 fans (in May 2015) to the current number of 13 fans (Fall 2016). The fans are close together with short compact leaves. Makes a lovely foliage clump!

This cultivar is listed as a dormant. I do not believe that is accurate. I believe that it is probably a semi-evergreen or maybe even an evergreen because it seems to grow year round here in Florida.

I did not keep stats on most of my plants this year, but I will say that the blooms I got on SDC were as beautiful and perfect as always and from just guessing, were right on target with the AHS database description! I've yet to see a single bloom, as all have been doubles. This is a keeper in my garden and one I hope to share with family and friends locally because the foliage always looks so good. Definitely shows rust resistance! Big Grin Thumbs up

Remember dormancy is a trait listed by the behavior present in the hybridizers garden.
Many of the plants that are listed as dormant my not act at all like dormants in your area.

This is a dormant that does well down in in southeast Alabama. The plant has again returned and is looking very good early in the season. It did very well last year and really put on a show with all the blooms it generated. Early in the season with the cooler weather 'Siloam Double Classic' showed a lot of single blooms, but as the weather warmed up it shifted to all doubles.
I was out walking the garden and took this photo today showing it with 16 scapes already. Lots of buds also already developing.
