I use a large sprayer and alternate between Liquid Fence and Repellsall.
I spray every 2-3 weeks duering the bloom season.
We dont have the herds that some gardeners deal with but budded DL's going nude overnight bothers me.
I leave any liquid in the sprayer for the next application.

Here is what I have found out.
Liquid fence stays fluid in the spray container and can be used until the sprayer is empty.
Repellsall forms a scum that cloggs the sprayer hose and nozzel and needs to be emptied after each time spraying.I just dont mix as much Repellsall at application time.

I alternate products because the deer become familier with one and eat at will. If I change oders they stay away.

Just something I found out ,thought I would pass it along.

Good to know. I mix a gallon at a time of Liquid Fence and tend to use it all up. First year using it and I'm impressed with it. I was having 5 to 8 deer in my garden several times a day. We're heavy here with deer.

Liquid Fence did a number on them. I went five weeks before seeing a deer in the garden and then when I did it was eating grass or clover and was 10 ft from my luscious bean plants that had been sprayed. Normally they'd eat my bean plants down to the nubs.

My only regret, I forgot to spray my daylilies and they got them again this year.

I just had to post that this spring my brother actually bought a bag of seed specifically for the deer! It was sold in the feed store as something hunters plant to attract the deer to their hunting blinds! My brother spread it all out by the woods to attract the deer to our yard!!!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

That being said, we don't have many plants that the deer like to eat and those that we notice them nibbling on, I spread soap shreds around them and the deer leave them alone. Smiling

Horseshoe: I would spray everything .I missed a 3 week spray date by 1 day and the deer ate DD's beans.
We dont have as many as you and I only see what they have done to the garden usually very early in the AM just before its light.
I live in a far suburb with large lots.My garden is big to my way of thinking .
Its my understanding the Liquid Fence makes the deer change a rangeing habit and trail habit when they encounter a strange orer.
I dont take chances and just spray the whole garden.I start in March so the deer dont get used to comming here.

Sally :what a horrible thing to do.

OH NO!! We don't put the seed down to attract the deer for the hunters!!! We live in a community with tiny lots. This whole area used to be all woods, farmland and meadows but in the last 10 years almost all of it has been razed for homes, shopping malls, medical centers etc. There are small pockets of conservation area that are meant to house all the wild critters that once roamed the area (we live on one of those conservation lots). The poor deer and other wildlife are left with only a tiny fraction of the home they once had, there is no place else for them to change a rangeing habit or trails...this is it. Our back yard is their front yard. Brother planted the seed to help supplement the deer's diet. We also have numerous feeders for the many birds, squirrels, etc. We love our wildlife.

OPPPS I must have miss read. Urban sprawl is the cause of the deer population wandering into gardens.

Long ago the San Francisco Zoo used to give away the sawdust from the big cat cages... saturated in urine. People would collect it and scatter it in their gardens in coastal mtns where the deer are so prevalent.

I wonder if they have anything at the local petting zoo that would work? At least to keep rabbits away.

People also collect human hair from local Beauty shops to spread as an animal repellant.
