Anyone know what this is? I've never seen one of these before (and I've lived here 43 years & counting!). See my fingers for some perspective. It was fairly large - and beautiful!

A Big Eyed Click Beetle, Alaus oculatus. Kind of a neat beetle. They click when disturbed.

I've seen it once and it was in Texas also. Once in 12 yrs. One of the largest beetles for me also. Very beautiful. Happy it's still around.
