Hi Tee!

Hope you're enjoying the rain Sandi! Bring some back with you! (There's a rumor of a 10% chance today. wheeee)

Guess I'll find out if my curly hose is worth it. I hope it makes it through the winter, but if not, well, it's still better than the others I've used so I'll just get another.

This may be hard to find in stores now that summer is almost over ( Hilarious! ). It's Velcro tape that you can cut to any length and wrap around a trunk and a support stick. I like it because it's a neutral green and doesn't jump out at you like the tape. I have used my cut pieces over and over. They seems to last forever. I used to get it at Lowe's, but they don't carry it anymore. You can find it on the web if you don't see it in a nursery. It was about $2.50 for the roll at Lowe's..

Great Idea Sandi, and the fact that it is neat and you don't have to do a knot and it can be reused makes it even better.
I will try to find some. Hurray!

I've been using the velco strips for some time.....but like you indicated........it has become hard to find in the usual places (Lowe's ,etc)

it is the quickest method for tying up tomatoes, or other plants being stacked/supported.....looks decent,as well.....I agree!
How about our baby 3 legged frog?

This was the first year I couldn't buy it at Lowe's. They looked at me like I made it up! I did find the Velcro website had it.

I really love my hori-hori knife. At first it was a bit intimidating to use since it is so much sharper than a trowel, but now the only two tools I walk around with when doing garden chores is my pruners and my hori-hori knife.

I think I'll ask for one of those hori-horis for Xmas. A few garden club members have them and love them. I figured I might take off a finger or two, tho. Since I'm considered "hard to buy for," I may just ask for one.

How does the hori hori work on weeds with deep roots like a dandelions? I have a lot of tools but none seem to do this job well.

I'm really not sure about the answer. I don't have too much of a problem with dandelions. I would think that it would work well, though, since it is quite sharp and easy to push deep into the soil.

I bought a stainless steel version, so I don't have to worry about rust.

What? No dandelions? Are they banned by your city codes?
