Hi! I'm Barbara in North Pole, Alaska.
Asiatics are the only lily that usually survive our long cold winters. But my favorites are the Orientals and the Trumpets.
Looking forward to participating! Typing this from my hotel room in Seattle where I will NOT buy ANY lilies tomorrow from The Lily Pad or B & D at the Northwest Flower show. Nope, I won't, not going to and you can't make me...
Okay, maybe Sorbonne 'cause it didn't make it and I have to replace it....
Will select one of my favorite lily pics to add to my profile when I get home.

Hi everybody! I'm Neal, a hopeless Lily addict. Its so nice to have a favorite flower that likes what our Kentucky climate throws at them. I remember seeing pictures as a child of Rubrum and Gold Band Lilies, and thinking they were the most exotic looking flowers I'd ever seen. They've never lost that appeal for me Smiling

Welcome Kathy, Barbara and Neal. It's so good to see you all over here.

Barbara, I am so jealous! I have wanted to attend that flower show for years, but the timing of my visits to the Northwest have never worked out. In fact, I almost worked for B & D one year (for bulbs) , but I ended up a week too late. So, please buy at least one, no, make that five, "for me" will you. I live vicariously through you today ;)

Well will surprise a few of you maybe as I never post or get over on the lily forum on DG just look at sewing and iris.

Here goes I am Denise aka Dee for short like me, I am a commercial iris grower in Oregon.

But do not even know if Polly knows this about me but have about 200-300 varieites of lilies, all types, my fav are the ones that are fragrant and some of the Asiatics seem to fragrance now. I would love to get more tiger lilies and maratagan lilies but that will take time.

How I got them is a story, friend in Canada who grew tons of lilies was moving, so here comes two boxes filled with lilie bulbs, some seedlings, some mismarked and a ton that were not. So they have one full 150' row out in the commercial bed to themselves plus a whole bunch around the house and many of those are named and some have lost there names.

Also want to share something from a commercial grower of lilies on pens, I had used DecoLiner for years and she turned me on to this new pen that on her wall facing north, she had tested 3 different brands, 1 faded one year, 2 faded two years 3 has yet to fade about 5 years. Name of pen is Brite Mark

Thanks, Janice. That's what I thought, but they have bigger blooms than I'm used to so I thought they were something else...
