They are all dug, cut back, washed but they're also mixed so there's no telling which is purple, or violet or the one that looks like Fortune but probably isn't. I have a huge amount and splitting them into several boxes could mean you'd get only purple, or only violet or only the Fortune look alike.

Okay folks - this is a good chance to try some Japanese! Arlene has GORGEOUS Japanese iris so even unnamed ones will be worth their weight in salt.

They really don't do very well in many parts of CA, Rob, so you can enjoy what does grow best for you.

They like acidic soil. They do not need to stand in water.

Does that mean that they might be happy in western Kentucky? We have acidic soil. Do they need full sun? I've never grown Japanese Irises before............
