I don't grow but Voodoo Lily (Amorphophallus konjac) but they can go dormant. Some interesting reading on this page, scroll down to the section on Dormancy: http://www.aroid.org/genera/am...

Give us a photo Alex. It's difficult to know otherwise. If there is more than one "main leaf" (this is fairly common) the first leaf might die back.

my main question I guess is.... should i unpot it now and break up the roots so as to store it away for winter or wait. I examined it and found out that the bulblits are rooting themselves into the soil, and the main leaf has died. there is only the side leaf left, its still green though. i dont have any pictures to post

IF your parent tuber put up 2 leaves (this is fairly common) and one is still green then leave the plant alone. It's in active growth and the green leaf is feeding the tuber. Don't disturb the potting media as this destroys root hairs. When the weather cools, nights in the 40'sF, will be a good time to reduce watering and water early on warm days.

Here's a plant with two leaves Alex. Hope this helps.
