|These are from a Chinese bottle gourd planted from seeds.
Brown, curled and ugly. The younger leaves at the top are fine.
They're in potting soil on a balcony in Hong Kong.
I'm new to this. Any suggestions of the problem?

|Hi Clarke, to All Things Plants!
I don't know a thing about Chinese Bottle Gourds, or any gourds for that matter but when googling for pests and diseases that affect the plant I found this information: http://ipm.ait.asia/?page_id=369
I wonder if the problem with the leaves on your plant could be Anthracnose? Check out some of these photos for of leaves with Anthracnose for comparison: http://www.google.com/search?q=anthracnose&hl=en&gbv=2&tbm=i...
I also found this information specifically regarding Gourds that might be helpful: https://www.plantvillage.com/en/topics/gourd/infos/diseases_...
I'm really not good at comparing photos so hopefully someone more knowledgeable about Gourds will be along with some advice.
Again, Welcome to the site!
