I expect it is a rosa-sinensis something or other. I found it at a local nursery. The flowers point to the sky.

That Beautiful bloom does looks like a variety/cultivar of Tropical Hibiscuses (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) to me too but I don't know which cultivar. I looked through all those with photos in the database as well as bunches when I googled but couldn't find a match. Hopefully someone will recognize it and be able to offer the cultivar name.

Thank you Lin, i guess i can't add it to the database without the name of the cultivar, right? I appreciate that you checked the database. This category is so huge and daunting. I also looked through some photo there and came up empty.

I found a google image that closely resembles the flower (along with some websites)...Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Mar Pacifico but this is not an option in the database, so when i try to add it to the database i receive an invalid message. Would someone be able to double-check this for me? I don't want to offer up something that is not correct. We all know how reliable the google images are Rolling my eyes.

No, it looks like Flor del Mar Pacifico is used as a synonym for Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Confused

Beverly, Since you can't be sure of the exact cultivar name of your lovely Hibiscus you can upload your image to the general entry for Hibiscus rosa-sinensis which is where we can put our photos if we don't know the exact name: Tropical Hibiscuses (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)

Lin, that's just what i was looking for but couldn't find it Thank You! I think i'll use a different photo though with more foliage. Also, thank you for thinking the bloom is lovely. A recent visitor to my garden shook her head and said "i don't like it" Crying You know how we gardeners are about our plants. It's as though she had told me i have an ugly baby. It just isn't done Hilarious! I think i'll leave the plant in circulation for awhile here. Maybe someone will recognize it.

Beverly, I guess we humans do have different tastes but it amazes me that anyone wouldn't love that beautiful bloom! I think it's beautiful, I love the soft shade and that red throat ... very elegant!
