Hi everyone. I know its getting to late to order this year. What would be your top 3 to 5 places to order irises from. Is there any you would kind of stay away from at all. I have seen mixed reviews about getting them on eBay, so I will stay away that route. Thanks for the input.

There are many I haven't ordered from that I've heard good things about..
My favorites are:
Superstition, Napa Iris, Sisters Iris, Mid-America, Bluebird Haven.

I've also received nice Iris from:
Exline, & Iris city

There are a couple that I'm not inclined to order from again based on the number of wrongly named rhizomes I've received. Other folks have had good luck with them, but that wasn't my experience.

Mid-America is top-notch. Schreiner's is an old, established respected grower and vendor.

The thread "Vendor list" in Irises forum most of these are pretty good suppliers, and were all recommended by folks on the forum. As to "personal favorites", a lot depends on what "type" of iris you are looking for....new ? historic ? median ? rebloomers ?....some of these vendors "lean" towards one type, or another, and that can make a lot of difference in where a person wants to shop.
That being said....and all things being equal, I would have to say that if Superstition has what you want.....that's the place I would buy it !

I've heard that they're good too Lucy. I haven't had the pleasure of ordering from them.

I forgot to add Joe Ghio's Bayview Gardens. Beautiful rhizomes.

I grow Historical irises, and I have ordered my rhizomes this year from the following vendors:

* Iris City Gardens
* Winterberry Gardens
* Superstition
* Joyful Irises
* Bluebird Haven Iris Gardens
* Williamson Farm Flowers
* Ozark Iris Gardens

I have been very pleased with the rhizomes received this year from the above Vendors.

My top picks would be

Winterberry
Blue J.
Stout
Superstition
Longs
International
Iris Sisters

So many good ones but the above named seemed to go above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchases.

I'd agree with many here, with Iris Sisters first, then Superstition , Napa and Mid-America and Stout and Blue J, Salmon Creek - but I
ordered from Burgard for the first time this year and the rhizomes were huge! Prices were low!
Will buy from them again.

Burgard only grows and sells TB's, right? I usually buy a few TB's but I like to fill out the order with MTB's and dwarfs.

I second Burgards. I wish she had more than tall bearded iris, but she is great to work with!

I also recommend Stout's, Blue J, Napa, Iris Sisters, Mt. Pleasant Iris Farm, International and Wild Iris Rows. I really like Schreiner's too but I have had one wrong iris out of each of my last 3 orders. I would say the digging crew isn't doing well with their labeling.

Schreiner's has gotten to be a very big company and it is impossible to deal with the public on a one-on-one basis when you are that big. They have some beautiful irises and I do order from them every other year but I have gotten to the point where I like to deal with the smaller companies.

I have to say that in my experience, Schreiner's is great on replacements.
The woman that takes orders or complaints over the phone is very helpful.

I have not tried Stoney Creek Irises. I will check it out for next year.
