I'm looking for this hibiscus. It's native to TX and found along the southeastern part of the state. Does anyone know of it?

No but Iet me know if you find some, I would love to have one. TXflora.org lists it in Calhoun, Harris, Lavaca, McLennan and Nueces Counties.

I didn't know of it either but it sure is pretty!

Actually, I had no idea there were so many varieties of hibiscus native to Texas...

Appreciate the link! Someone way up north, who's a hybridizer, saw a post I'd made about Confederate Roses and e-mailed me that he'd like for me to try to root a native hibiscus he had been trying to grow. He sent the cuttings, and I wrote him that I had the Heartleaf rosemallow growing in front yard if he wanted seeds. He was excited to be able to try them. I didn't know they were so hard to find......I sent him all I could gather before our first frost.
I would have never known there were so many natives either. Now I'd like to try to find some more. I'll have to start looking for some of the ones "Mr. Smarty Pants" lists!
And...keeping my fingers crossed I can root his hibs over the winter...

Appreciate the link! Someone way up north, who's a hybridizer, saw a post I'd made about Confederate Roses and e-mailed me that he'd like for me to try to root a native hibiscus he had been trying to grow to bloom. Too cold up there for it to grow to buds. He sent the cuttings, and I wrote him that I had the Heartleaf rosemallow growing in front yard if he wanted seeds. He was excited to be able to try them. I didn't know they were so hard to find......I sent him all I could gather before our first frost.
