Sims did a great job with his seeds. I have a lot more from that mix blooming this year, which is particularly exciting for me. Trumpets are so special and I'd have to agree with you Rick, there's not too many I'd turn away. The other great thing is how easy they are to start from seed.

NOT! Rolling on the floor laughing I say if I can do it, any one of you all can. I said before too, it teaches patience in its own way. And will also then amaze you when you grow things like tomatoes from seed and they germinate in a few days.

One of the Cascade Asiatic seedlings. Note that the spots are really cute little circles!

L. pardalinum grown from seed. It takes a long time from seed to flower, four or more years...

My favorite place to acquire seeds is through the North American Lily Society seed exchange. David Sims no longer has an active site, nor does another woman, I think, who used to do seeds. Cascade Bulb & Seeds does them still too. Buggy Crazy also used to have great seeds. Seems we are running low on places to get this good stuff. Crying

You can always just make your own seeds! Why not?? Its fun! I recommend starting with trumpets because they quickly bulb up.

I can do that, Connie.

When does the North American Lily Society seed exchange go on?

I will check out Cascade Bulb and Seed. Someone else recommended them also.

Thanks!

Polly, normally the NALS seed sale runs from mid March to end of May but they cut it short this year. They are looking for new seed chairmen and if no one volunteers there will be no sale next year. It's a lot more work than you would think and really, it's a two person job, at a minimum.

I'll send you some seeds this fall. Now-a-days I think my stuff is better than theirs. But my first experience with lily seeds was a purchase from Cascade and I was immediately addicted. Their seed list back in the 90s was four pages long!
