After weeks of gradual warmer and fairly dry weather, the ground in my yard is workable. I ordered a lily mix of bulbs from Buggy Crazy and I put them in today. I sectioned off one area just for her Smiling and it will be the land of surprises come summer. Looking forward to all of that up and coming surprise bloom stuff. It really gets me excited about things to come. Hurray!

Glad to hear you actually have some real estate left for more lilies, mags. My FF order arrived today. Maybe you can send some real estate my way? Whistling

I just took this picture of "Probably Pearl Jessica". I certainly hope we don't get a hard freeze!

And Soiree (Asiatic). I love the new bronzy red foliage of this one. It will turn green when the stem matures. I have a number of lilies up like this and more with noses just poking out. I have to watch where I step out there!

Let me just add that those Buggy bulbs are sandwiched in at the end of a bed that I had filled up last year, but had several feet just waiting to be dug up, grass covered up (to help it die) with two big towels last summer. And wouldn't you know it, I didn't have quite enough room for all of those monsters! I still have a few monsters left to put somewhere easy. These babies were on Oregon weather timing, as all of the sudden chilled and all, I started to see little sprouts coming up. They want to get going on things I guess.

Real estate is something I get reprimanded for at times (utilizing too much of it that is). In fact, just today there was a household complaint about me digging up more yard for plants this year. I still feel like I have a few places left to sneak stuff in where it is less noticeable. Me? Plant something new? Nah...that was there last year Confused One of *those* types of places. You know?

Well, except for December, we hardly had a winter. That is why it was so cold everywhere else! Some of my lilies were nosing their way out in late January.

Those are some ‘Leslie Woodriff’ bulbs I divided last year. Think I keep about 6 or 7 of them and planed them by the back deck. May be shorter this year, but usually grow about 7'. One of my tallest and strongest growers. I need a new deck really badly, but am going to hold off having it built until fall so the lilies don't get stepped on.

LOL Susan ~ good for you.

When we had siding put on the old house, the workmen told me my clematis/trellis would have to come down. Since they were running about 3 weeks late, my response was ~ 'that ain't gonna happen!' I did tip it out about 45°, (rested against a ladder) and told them they'd have to work around it. Also told them that if they didn't step on my lilies I'd buy them a case of beer ~ and that they wouldn't need to worry about losing their favorite body parts. With a smile... sorta....
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

Oh yes ~ big smile with a slightly crazed look in my eyes. You know the kind where it seems like you're joking but they're not completely convinced. Blinking

We both made good and they got their brewskies.
