I can't say I am an expert here, but there are some things that you will definitely want to take into consideration that I do know for sure:
---- there are male plants and female plants, but obviously, there must be some others around (either wild or cultivated) to produce seed. I grow an annual variegated Japanese type as an ornamental vine. It reseeds [b]everywhere['b]. Both annual and perennial types are very aggressive, growing 20 to 40 feet in a year. Perennial types have underground rhizomes. I can't say about the wild species, but the cultivated forms (as in hops for beer) sucker vigorously when mature.
