Their not advertised as the tree type...but as Giant Hybrid OT Lilies...
I don't care if they only get 4-5' tall..I was just wondering...that's all...

Who is the vendor? That should tell you a lot. I usually view outrageous claims with skepticism ~ and go with the more modest claim.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

The tallest lily I have ever grown was Geisha Girl that topped off at 7 1/2 feet. Overall the OT lilies can be 5 or 6 feet, but some are only 4 feet. So yes, I agree to take all claims from the cheap vendors with a great deal of Rolling my eyes.

It was Van Bourgondien's that I was reading it at....
I was just curious..I know last year lots of places we're advertising the lily tree's
but I think only to put a bigger price tag on it...

It's a shame that there's not a lot of places out there that carries a big variety Of lilies
......a handful maybe...

My tallest lily is King Kong at 9 ft, it also got to the eave's of one of my customer's houses, but that can depend on growing conditions. It likes being up against a house which also gives one someplace to tie it to because it will fall over. It is normal for our orientals to read 5-6 feet, that is because of the bulb size, that depends also on growing conditions. Most large bulbs sold (about 2 inches) will be 4 feet or less the first year (depending on growing conditions, spring planted bulbs tend to be shorter) and get taller as the bulb gets bigger. In sandy soil they get huge, in 100% clay like our old place they only got 2.5 inches in diameter, only 4-5 feet tall, but the microclimate was much better and we had beautiful flowers and no moles subdividing and selling off tunnels to mice...
