I believe this is Silver Beard Grass - Bothriochloa laguroides ssp. torreyana

It is a clumping grass that is supposed to have nice fall color, attracts birds and butterflies and is larval host for skippers and satyrs.

Oh...they look so lush and green! Our wild areas don't have much green anymore. Post #137132 looks like one of the Parthenium species. I watered enough to get a few Partridge Pea plants up in my garden!
