I've seen this plant growing in several gardens. Not near where I live (but in my zone). I didn't feel comfortable to go knocking on doors and ask. If I can find the name of it, I will purchase it next year for planting. I'm reasonably sure it's a perennial because I see it year after year when I drive by the garden. I took the pictures from a distance, the plant appears to be about 4 to 5 feet tall.
