zuzu said:I have that one. It doesn't have blooms with the same shape as Angel Face's. It has fewer petals than Angel Face and the petals are in a more lax (messy) arrangement.

Yup, not nearly the same but it was much less prone to disease than Angel Face. I could not keep the blackspot away from Angel Face even if spraying it weekly. And I only spray every two weeks. It was just worth all the trouble and upkeep to me.

I've tried Angel Face several times, in different gardens over the years, and always it was a weakling. The last two were replaced with Melodee Parfumee (sp?) and Love Song. Neptune and Poseidon were replacements for earlier ones.
Zuzu, I am so sorry your vertigo has gotten so bad. I had one brief episode with the sort you endure. I jumped into a pool without plugging the tubes in my ears, and oh my, what a horrible experience. I felt like I couldn't hold on tight enough to keep from getting flung right off the spinning earth. To this day, i still wonder how i managed to climb out of the pool when I had no sense of up or down.
Two weekends ago, I went to an outdoors camp for women. My goal was to learn stand up paddleboarding. To me, it was a huge accomplishment because I was 2.5 months from knee replacement, and in the past few years, I've had motion sickness issues. The paddleboarding turned out to be one of the most relaxing things I have done in years! The little lake I was on had a few slight ripples, no real waves, and it was a beautiful 53 degree day, and all my physical therapy paid off. I just felt so alive, so hopeful again. Lovey dubby

Thank you all.

I like Blue Bajou, but I`ve never seen it here. I`ll have to do some research and find a decent replacement. I think I saw Poseidon in the local nursery.

Cindi, your paddleboarding experience sounds wonderful. I'm so happy that it awakened those good feeings in you.

I had an Angel Face standard when I was in Los Altos many years ago. I seem to remember it having a lot of rust. I didn't care that much for the flowers particularly, but the fragrance was nice. In general, I'm not a fan of lavender roses, but I have Perfume Perfection that came in a Costco bundle, and it's been a really nicely performing floribunda.

Odd. My Angel Face, whom of which I bought at a grocery store, has done magnificently here with almost minimal protection (less than 2" of mulch). And I planted her around the stump of my aspen with some of my other blue roses. She's between a Blue Girl & Melody Parfume. I bought her.. 4? years ago? Of course she doesn't get much taller than 2', but very few of my roses do!

Plants perform differently in other climates and soils. I'm betting your air is drier than ours.
