That is much colder than what I thought. I thought this type of temps were in mountain areas only - that is chilly!! nodding So some of your sedum must be in a greenhouse or indoors yes??

You will be happy to know that 'Lime Twister' will be more than safe in your winter temps. You will be able to grow it year round outdoors. It was bred and raised outdoors in Michigan and will take temperatures down to -34.4 °C.

@eristeblastosis Welcome to the best garden forum on the net.

I know you probably cannot order from an American nursery but I just ordered it from Santa Rosa. It is one of those that if they have it you have a good chance of finding it everywhere.

I hope @eristeblastosis found one.

I received mine from Santa Rosa today. They must have had a lot of orders for it because they were in such a hurry to send it out they just threw what was very obvious a plug in a 3" pot and put a little bit of soil on top. I could see the little plug soil shape. I put it on the patio and will baby it so it gets strong to put in the garden. I am being safe this year because the deer and groundhogs really love some of the sedum. Some they do not touch others are eaten to the ground.

Lynn that looks really pretty. I thought this sedum's leaves were bigger. But I know it was a plug because the plug was obvious from the shape of the root ball. I guess they had to put it in a bigger pot since they state on their site pot size of the plants. It is like telling people they are getting a gallon size plant when it is a gallon of soil but a plug root ball.

I planted some lilies with sedum as ground cover in my patio pots last year. I am starting to like the look. I am getting the hang of this perennial pots for the patio. It was getting expensive and a lot of work looking for the right annuals.

I will take a pick when the lilies bloom. I hope you post pics too when the lilies bloom.

I will post photos when the lilies bloom.
I sure look forward to seeing your combinations. What fun this is getting to be. I never thought about growing bulbs in containers until 2 years ago.

I love growing them in pots. I use to grow them in pots and put them in the garden and when they were done blooming I would put them on the side yard until the leaves died down. They multiplied quicker and I had more to plant in the ground. The lilies only last a couple years in the ground but they last and multiply in the pots. I just started planting them as part of my patio combo pots.

What I never tried was sedum in pots. This is turning out to be the best pot plant ever. Do not need to water the pots as much and they look good all summer. Hurray! With all these new color leaves they are developing I can stage the pots with lots of color.

I agree. I've been growing Sedums in pots and they look great. Angelina doesn't even die in the winter. The Blue Spruce variety doesn't either.

Last year I planted a big container with Sedums and Petunias. It looked good. Now the sedums are all up again. I just need to plop some new annuals in to fill the gaps.

That combination sounds really nice Clint. Do you have any photos of how it turned out?
