Jay, the white flowers look like anemones...but don't know which species grows in your area.

I really love seeing the buttercups along the roads it looks so pretty in big clumps! well all of the wildflowers look so pretty this time of year!

although I'm not particularly happy with the bull thistles; the bombus' seem to love them!

I love the buttercups also! Oh heck, I love almost all of the wildflowers...except those really invasive exotics like that bull nettle! The Texas Thistle that I tolerate just a little bit of it in my yard is better. We're in severe drought, so the wildflowers (outside of watered yards, of course) aren't so great this year. Don't remember the last time we had even 1/10 of an inch here. Maybe in January? I think my yard is attracting more nectar-seeking insect life than usual....possibly because they're not finding that much in the wild. Not to mention the baby snakes and the lizards of all kinds. I call this container the 'lizard pool', just the right size, I guess, because they seem to prefer it over the larger water containers.
