It just showed up in isolation. Other poppies in the garden are orientals (Double lilacs) and Flanders poppies, plus a couple that look like Thelma Crawfords but Im danged if I know what this beauty is. If I knew, I get more. It is my favorite.

Nope! I can not see it there, I did find 2 matches on Google poppy images but they were "stock" images and only told about the photographer who seemed to know nothing about the flower. Bouns! I will try and order some of that sites seeds! She has some wonderful stuff! Thank You!

The leaves look like a common field / Flanders poppy. II suspect it of being a mutation of some sort because I harvest my seed and that did not produce a look-a-like. I also notice a number of poppies, each season, that seem to be mutations from my other oriental poppies. There are always a few, like that each season. I have yet to figure out how to make them "stay" mutated because all seed seems to revert back to standard. Sad Sighing!

Orange poppy seeds. Blooms are short so just take a look:

A whole page from Google on various poppy seed vendors. Have fun looking:

It is absolutely Not a California poppy, though I do have some of those, nor is it an arctic.

Is it this one? It came up as a volunteer in my garden many years ago, and now it's everywhere.

That's one of our database images, so the name is above the image. If you click on the name, you'll arrive at this page.

Not particularly pretty. Similar to the seed pods of California poppies. The pods are visible in this multi-plant photo:

I actually think they are very pretty. They look like a nice accent flower. I do a full mixed bed, trying to look as much like it happened by accident as possible. I think they would work well in my front gardens! Do you know what they are called?

They are very pretty. My "not particularly pretty" comment was a response to Frillylily's question about the seed pods. As for the name, it was provided above. It's Papaver atlanticum 'Flore Pleno.'
