Watering Tricks and Tips for Container Gardening

Finding something to look forward to when the hot, dry months of summer would roll around was challenging. Combining unique ideas from books, friends and family, along with my own wit and passion for gardening, I began to look forward to the dry months to see how my watering schedules and plans would work.

Those are all some good pot watering tips. I am one of those who believed that gravel in the bottom of a pot helped with drainage.

I like the tip on the coil method, hadn't ever heard of doing that! I'm thinking I might try it with some really old ratty towels I have. Tear them lengthwise, wrap the plant and keep a long enough end to be the wick. It will be interesting to see how fast the plants 'drink' the water that way, once the roots reach the cloth.
